Soinista syytettiin hyvin läheisestä ja suorastaan intiimistä suhteesta erääseen uskovaiseen naiseen. Myöhemmin on esitetty, että kyse oli kahden johtohenkilön keskinäisestä soitimesta, josta Eino I. Manninen selviytyi voittajana nousten vuorostaan ko. uskovaisen naisen pyrstölle.

Raastuvanoikeus vapautti hänet syytteistä, mutta Helsingin hovioikeus tuomitsi hänet elokuussa 1962 yhdeksän kuukauden ehdolliseen vankeuteen jatketusta sekaantumisesta henkilöön, jonka opetus oli hänelle uskottu, ja haureuden harjoituksesta kahden henkilön kanssa, joiden opetus oli hänelle uskottu, sekä maksamaan asianomistajille 12 000 markkaa oikeudenkäyntikuluja.

Soininen kuoli 65-vuotiaana vuonna 1976. Helsingin Siion-seurakunta liittyi helluntaiherätykseen vuosien 1984–1985 vaihteessa.
